About Blaze Gaming

Blaze Gaming is a free-to-play Minecraft: Java Edition server network that runs two Pokémon-themed modded servers, Pixelmon and Cobblemon. Players join at play.mc-blaze.com using the network's official modpacks, Pixelmon Plus+ and Cobblemon Plus+. The community's main hub is the Blaze Gaming Discord server at discord.gg/blaze.

Blaze Gaming was founded in 2018 by BlazeJon, who still runs the network with a staff team. More than 500,000 players have played on Blaze Gaming since then.

The servers

Pixelmon

Pixelmon is Blaze Gaming's longest-running game mode. The server has run on Minecraft 1.12, then 1.16.5, and now runs Pixelmon Reforged 9.4.1 on Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge). The current season, Storm V, started with the most recent reset on 23 March 2026.

The Pixelmon server resets roughly once a year, and each reset starts a new named season. Earlier seasons include Aqua and Inferno (Minecraft 1.12), Breeze and Lightning (Minecraft 1.16.5), and Storm I to Storm V (Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.21.1).

The Pixelmon server hosts the Mega Monthly Tournament (MMT), a monthly competitive battle tournament. Each MMT has two qualifier rounds followed by a Championship Day final, and winners are added to the server's Hall of Fame. Each tournament is announced in a post on this website (all MMT posts).

Cobblemon

Cobblemon is Blaze Gaming's newest game mode. The Cobblemon server launched on 4 December 2025 and runs Cobblemon 1.8.1 on Minecraft 1.21.1 (Fabric). It is still on its first season, Infinity. Like Pixelmon, it is planned to reset roughly once a year.

Former game modes

Blaze Gaming has also run Skyblock, Survival and Vanilla servers. All three have closed, and the network now focuses on Pixelmon and Cobblemon. Their announcements are kept on this site as part of the network's history: Skyblock posts · Survival posts.

How to join

1. Choose a server: Pixelmon or Cobblemon.
2. Install its free official modpack: Pixelmon Plus+ through the CurseForge app (Pixelmon Plus+ guide), or Cobblemon Plus+ in one click from the Blaze Cobblemon listing on Modrinth or through the CurseForge app (Cobblemon Plus+ guide).
3. Launch the modpack and open Multiplayer. Blaze Gaming is already in the server list, so click it and Join.

Players who join with the official modpack for the first time receive one-time rewards on each server. You can also join with any matching Pixelmon (NeoForge) or Cobblemon (Fabric) client using the address play.mc-blaze.com. Blaze Gaming is Java Edition only; Bedrock Edition can't connect. If the game runs slowly, give Minecraft 4–6 GB of memory in your launcher settings. The full walkthrough is on the How to Play page.

Community and staff

Blaze Gaming is moderated by a staff team. You can meet the team, and apply to join it, on the Staff page. Server announcements, events, giveaways and development previews are posted on the Discord server, which is also where players open support tickets.
